People want to be treated how they treat others. We all want dignity,
to feel worthy, to have a safe place to live, be paid fair wages.

We all have dreams for children, and we all need clean air, clean water.

Ultimately, I think everyone wants to feel a part
of a community, to feel listened to, to be heard.”

Two decades of leadership

An Avon resident, Eleni is a long-serving community leader and writer. For two decades, she has provided key leadership and service in Farmington Valley and Hartford area communities. As an active board member for Hands on Hartford for six years, she saw firsthand the struggles that non-profits faced in meeting needs of the most vulnerable. She has led initiatives and built teams to raise funds and secure resources for schools, food banks, child advocacy groups, and more.

I will be the working legislator
our district deserves.”

A lifetime of service

Eleni is co-founder of two Farmington Valley organizations: 100 Women Who Can - Farmington Valley, a regional giving circle that collected over $55,000 in its first year, and ForwardCT, a 1,700+ member grassroots activist group that educates and inspires residents to support critical causes including poverty, healthcare, refugees, education, and the environment. As campaign chair for the Avon Democratic Town Committee in 2017, she led operations that resulted in a 43% increase in turnout of Democratic voters and raised the most funds in Avon DTC’s history.

I believe that to whom much is given, much is expected.”

Activism in her blood

Born in Honolulu (the same hospital as Barack Obama), Eleni was raised in Virginia by a single mother and inspired by the service of her grandfather, a union arbitrator, and her great uncle, who assisted in writing the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A graduate of James Madison University, Eleni is the proud mother of three children, and her husband is founder and CEO of a disabled veteran-owned small business. Eleni has called the Farmington Valley home for 20 years.

We are not naïve in our convictions that the world can be a better
place for everyone.”
